On Creating an Experience

While we tackle the weddings of our dear clients this year, we are simultaneously planning a once-in-a-lifetime 3 week long trip to Europe in honor of our 10 year anniversary. I tell you what, planning a vacation of that caliber is TRICKY. It reminds me a lot of planning a wedding, actually. You can technically stay anywhere and just wing the rest, but you don't want to do that - you want it to be perfect. The restaurants, the setting, the transportation, the lodging - everything. You want to make sure you've made educated choices and set yourself up for success, because there is no do-over. And, unfortunately, in order to make sure it's perfect, you have to do a lot of research and weigh all the options, until you arrive at (and feel good about) the right choice for you.

For some people, they don't care where they stay, they just want to go. And honestly, the same can be said for a lot of people planning a wedding. And that's okay! Weddings are expensive, stressful and intimidating if you don't know what you're doing (and sometimes, even when you do). Truthfully, it's much easier to take the shortcut, put a hurricane on a table and call it a day. But if you're the kind of person who values the experience you have along the way, who recognizes that there is a difference between staying at a Motel 6 vs finding the  most adorable little Airbnb where the owner greets you with a bottle of wine on her terrace (for example) - well, you and I, we're cut from the same cloth.

Our mission as a company isn't to plan all the weddings - it's to plan the right ones for us. We believe people hire us because they, too, value their experiences. It isn't about having the biggest budget, and it also isn't about spending the least amount possible just because you can. Yes, budget has to factor into the equation, but ultimately, it's more about finding that perfect fit for you and taking the time to craft something memorable. Knowing when the time comes, you'll be floating right through it like it isn't even real, loving every second because it was exactly what you wanted it to be. That's such a good feeling.

Menton, France is a must, I think. I just want this girl to be me. Is that so wrong?
